And yes, we zag, because where others offer a range of low impact and low certainty channels (PR, events, intermediaries, paid search, and LinkedIn networking etc.) we focus your resources on the one thing that will always work well. This is ‘Rainmaking’. It’s not easy. It doesn’t deal in the usual familiar concepts or tick the boxes and hope to get lucky. Instead, it involves careful application of one-to-one content marketing, and tailored, intuitive follow-up to build on the effect. rainmaker /’reinmeiki/ 1. N. Amer.informal. 1. A person who generates income for a business or organization by brokering deals or attracting clients or funds. 2. One known for achieving excellent results in a profession or field, such as business or politics. 3. One believed to be capable of producing rain, as through magical or ritual actions.
We do love our name. It perfectly captures what we do. A Rainmaker is someone with “an almost uncanny ability to generate new business…. or otherwise help a company succeed”. To do this Rainmakers need to be curious, well-informed, intelligent, creative, and commercial. They are also squarely focused on detecting demand and then matching it with an effective supply; the very essence of entrepreneurial spirit!
When we launched, back in 1996, we immediately started changing how new business for marketing agencies was done and reshaping best practice. Our core belief then was that outreach to high value targets must be tailored one-to-one based on critical insights. The world has changed at lot since then, but our belief in intelligence-led content has never been stronger. And while others spread new business resources thinly across multiple channels, we focus on richer, deeper, and systematic engagement with each of the brands you most wish to win as clients. And it works.
